Regular Baptist Press Bug Zone VBS

The new VBS from Regular Baptist Press is out on their Facebook page. It’s called Bug Zone and has the tagline, “Transformed by our big God.”

Once again, I’m very impressed with the initial artwork from RBP. As you can see in the main logo art above, the decorating ideas will be fun. I can imagine this will be popular with the kids too.

For several years, I’ve reviewed and tested the VBS curriculum from Regular Baptist Press. You can expect a high quality program with solid biblical content. RBP makes a point to be evangelistic in their approach.

My frequent reservation is their musical arrangements. They have wonderful content rich songs, but they are performed in a style which is clearly out of sync with current kid culture. Let’s hope this year I can report back an improvement.

Look for my full review this winter. To learn more about Bug Zone VBS, you can visit their official website. You might also enjoy our coverage of all the 2012 Vacation Bible School themes.

Thanks for your review. We use RBP material every year. Just wanted to mention that some churches are more conservative in their music and prefer the traditional sound. Just because you don’t like the music doesn’t mean that it is not good. Maybe it would be better to mention that the music is more conservative instead of saying it needs improvement. I have young children and they love the old traditional kids’ songs. We have used RBP’s curriculum and have had huge success with the VBS in our church. You don’t have to have a rock and roll concert to attract kids to church.

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify let me say this music is really bad, even compared to the traditional style. I would attribute any success to the skill and enthusiasm of your leadership team. Of course, this is all just my opinion and I would encourage churches to listen to samples on the RBP website.
