Tony,
Great post! I am deeply committed to sharing a clear gospel message to children. We have such a great amount of "cutesy" language and messages that we pour down their throats that I'm sure many children in our churches are very confused. I (like your post above) stick with the message of Paul from I Cor. 15:3-4. If you are not proclaiming the Death, Burial and Resurrection for the forgiveness of sins, then you are not proclaiming the full gospel. You can't expect people to put the puzzle pieces together by themselves by offering a shotgun message over the course of their time at your church. Make it clear! Furthermore, when we leave out the resurrection, we leave people with a dead Jesus!

You can find two articles I have written about this very topic called "Why Your Child Should Not Ask Jesus into Their Heart" and "Evangelizing Children" at http://freecmstuff.com/downloads/articles/.

Thanks for a great and challenging post Tony!
