The Story In Their Eyes DVD

Bob Singleton from God’s Kids Worship sent me a review copy of their special encouragement resource DVD titled The Story in their Eyes.

The idea is to show this video at a teacher appreciation event or use it in recruiting volunteers for your children’s ministry. I could imagine some churches would show it directly to their congregation during a Sunday Morning Service.

The cool part about this resource is how each church can customize it. The DVD includes a standard version of the video, but also the files need to make a PowerPoint version using pictures from your own church. He’s also made a version of the video without lead vocals, so you can have a soloist perform the song.

Here is a link to watch the video for yourself, you can also order/learn more on their website.

Story In Their Eyes Lyrics

“The Story In Their Eyes” Composed & Produced by Bob Singleton. © 2006 Agnes Day Music, BMI. recording p 2006 Creative Ministries Project. CCLI SONG NO. 5061912.
Dedicated to Children’s Ministry volunteers and professionals all over the world

VS 1
In the eyes of every child
Behind their tears, behind their smile
Is a story of their life and times
More than what they heard in nursery rhymes
A story showing in their eyes
The story starts, and then it grows
It’s what they see, it’s what they know
If they see the love of Jesus clearly
Learn to hold on to Him dearly
You’ll see the love of God grow in their eyes.

Chorus
There’s a story in the eyes of every child
It’s their journey, every turn, and every smile
Will they see Jesus before their hearts grow cold
And hear the Truth before their souls grow old,
Will Jesus be the story in their eyes.

VS 2
They need to see; they need a guide
With open heart, arms open wide
Simple acts of love can deeply reach them
Simple words that deeply teach them
Opening a world of hope in their eyes
It’s all they ask; it isn’t much,
A little time, a gentle touch.
If we help to reach a child’s heart, then
We can have a tiny part in
Jesus in the story in their eyes.

Chorus
There’s a story in the eyes of every child
It’s their journey, every turn, and every smile
Help them see Jesus before their hearts grow cold
And hear the Truth before their souls grow old,
Help Jesus be the story in their eyes.
Bridge
Turn their eyes on Jesus
With everything you say
Turn their eyes on Jesus
With everything you do
Turn their eyes on Jesus
In every little way
Fill their souls, fill their lives
Fill their hearts, fill their eyes
With Jesus!

Chorus
There’s a story in the eyes of every child
It’s their journey, every turn, and every smile
Let them see Jesus before their hearts grow cold
And hear the Truth before their souls grow old,
Let Jesus be the story in their eyes
Let Jesus be the story in their eyes
Let them see Jesus,
Let them see Jesus.

This video really touched my heart as a teacher in Sunday school. Our church school is fairly new and we are having a heart time getting teachers. I’m already starting to see that “cold look” the song talks about in some of our youth’s eyes. I fear they want get the nourishment they need in time and it is critical that we do something to reach them. I’m in charge of teacher recruitment and I’m planning a teacher appreciation luncheon for the few teachers we have in hopes of drawing more teachers as we invite some other members to this luncheon. THis video would be an awsome tool to draw them and since we don’t have a budget, we having to come out of pocket for everything. Please consider donating a video to us if it be God’s will. Thanks in advance either way it goes as I learning to be thankful in all things,

I previewed the video and loved it…I would love to use it at my Quarterly Preschool Meetings but see where we could use it in several different areas. I love to train up new workers and get people all fired up about children’s ministries. This tool would be great and could be used anywhere to do just that. Blessings!

I love this video and will show it during our three worship services, hopefully making people realize that they are equipped to help with the Children’s Ministry…they just need to show love to the kids in Jesus’ name.

It is an awesome video. It would touch the hearts and lives of many that maybe have not yet made the commitment to step up and serve!

The look in the eyes of the children are very touching and makes my passion for the child greater.

We are just starting our Kids Ministry @ our church. We are looking for new ideas. We would use this DVD to help us in our vision of what we want Kids Ministry to be. The kids are the FUTURE of the church. Everything we can do to instill GOD in their lives will be beneficial to them at pre-teens/teens/young adults & adults. I want them to enjoy coming to church & feel they are missing out when they aren’t in the church!!

This would be great! I need help so bad in our childrens area and maybe a new way of getting the point across to everyone will help.

I am volunteering as the director of Children’s Ministry at a start up church. We would love to get a good base of people who have a heart for the kids to start this ministry off on the right foot with a strong foundations. This video may help people jump in and get involved.

I have just recently been accepted as the Sunday School director for the children and youth in my church. We have had a decline in Sunday School enrollment and the first thing I want to do, as the director, is encourage the Sunday School teachers and help motivate them to do more outreach. I feel this DVD would remind us why we are Sunday School teachers. Thank you!

My job entails traveling to many of our churches throughout Florida training the Children’s Ministry staff. I love this video and would love to be able to show it often in my workshops.
