Last week I wrote a quick review of the All-in-One Bible Fun Curriculum from Abingdon Press. We liked the preschool edition and have used it twice in a preschool class at our church. It is definitely a useful resource to have on hand, especially if you need to hand something off to a last minute substitute.
These books are only $10 each – a great price for 13 weeks of lessons for Sunday School or Children’s Church. You can read a sample on the Abingdon Press or Cokesbury websites.
This contest is now closed, thanks to everyone who entered. Look for more giveaways soon.

One of my favorite characters to teach to children out of the Old Testament is the judge Ehud. Opening their eyes to the fact that the Bible is full of every type of story is so much. They do not realize that they do not need all of the worldly stuff to thrill them. The Bible has it all. Of course age appropriate for them to handle. The story of Ehud is very cool how God delivered his message to King Eglon. The book of Judges is so much fun because they are just ordinary people who God chooses to lead in his extroardinary acts.
It would be a joy to win something. I have never won anything in my life. I am a Children’s Church teacher in a wheelchair. Some parents are happy to see a teacher with a disability teaching their children and there are some who don’t. My favorite Bible story Joseph and his brothers. They were not being good to their brother. While they were being honery, God had a plan to make the situation turn out in a praise way that brought the brothers close together. I have done this lesson several times in different ways.
As a child, I was fascinated by the Bible. I was saved at age 10 and received my 1st Bible on my 11th Birthday. It became my little StoryBook and has been my favorite book ever since.
My favorite story that I like to teach is the Story of the Three Hebrew Boys (Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) in the fiery furnace. And trying to get them to say, “King Nebuchadnezzar” is always a joy….but they always get it!!
I love story-telling!!! It brings the pages of God’s word to life, through the eyes of a child. Capturing the attention of the smallest child while holding the attention of the oldest is priceless!!! It’s like planting a seed and watching it grow.
PS: Oops, one of my favorite Bible stories for children is the story of the Prodigal Son. When children (first/second graders) say, “I’ve heard that before,” I remind them that they eat the same breakfast every morning and I try to add information to the details they remember from the short clips they’ve heard in K and Pre School. Sometimes, I start with “What do you remember about the story of Jesus and ______? Then build from that.
My son is doing Children’s church now once a month. He would love some extra resources. I could use some new ideas in Sunday School too. Don’t have but 4 regular students. Pray that I will get kicked out of my SS room soon which is the Youth pastor’s office. We are currently and it seems eternally looking for a youth pastor. FYI: Our basement (SS area classrooms)is undergoing major improvements due to water damage.
Ruth,
I know how you feel about having a little room. I used to have only 3 regular kids in my 1st-5th grade class and now I have 8 regular students, and ocasionly I have as many as 13 in my small 10x 10 room. We had to take the table out that we used to work on when we do crafts so we have enough room for me, my husband, and all the kids. I have been using a series of lessons from another church and the kids love the fact that they get to do all kinds of activities, we even almost every sunday run over into church time. My oldest Daughter(15) keeps telling me I should just call my class the Chldren’s Church since they are the mostly the bulk of our Children’s Church.
Good Day All!
One of my favorite children time lessons was teaching how Jesus washed away our sins with his blood. I used two poster boards- one black stating sinful and lost, the other white stating clean and whole, some red fabric, and different methods of cleaning. First, one child tried a paper towel, next another tried a wash cloth, then we all tried with a big sponge together when that still didn’t work our pastor step in let us know only one thing would work. He took the red fabric, placed it over the black poster, and told us the blood that Jesus shed was the answer. Once he removed the fabric the clean and whole poster was showing. The kids loved it and they loved being involved. It was a good remember to the adults, too.
Thank you this opportunity. May God bless and keep everyone, family, or church that reads this.
In Christ Love, Cynthia
I love to teach the my preschoolers the story of Jesus and children from Matthew 10. I read it and then we act it out every September. I love verse 16 ” and He took them in His arms and blessed them”
I think my favorite story to tell the kids is about the wall of Jericho tumbling down. Their eyes get so wide and they sit really still to hear about how God helped them knock down the wall just by walking around it, blowing their trumpets and giving a mighty shout. :D
This curriculum would be an answer to prayer. Recently our church has had to cut all expending of money and our staff (my hubby and me included) have had to take a 5% cut in our pay. I buy a lot of materials myself, but am unable to do so now due to finances. SO, that said….this would be an answer to prayer.
We have a new preschool program going on Wednesday night and this would aid that ministry greatly.
My favorite Bible story to teach is … anything. I just love teaching the kids. They are so eager to learn. Right now on Wednesday nights (with Grades 1-6) we are teaching them about being BOLD witnesses using Joshua 1:9 as our base! Lovin’ every minute of it.
I would love to win this curriculum! My favorite story is more in line with a favorite verse – Psalm 23. My husband and I co teach the class so for 2 months we went through the Shepherd’s Psalm making a book with each of the children, using activities and skits to impart to them that the Lord is their Shepherd, He will not leave them in want, He will feed them, restore them, allow them to rest.
