Bible Passage: Psalm 139:7-10
Bible Lesson Title: God is Everywhere

Supplies: Bible, See additional activities for other supplies and preparation.
With toddlers, you want to keep your lesson simple. If your class is able, get them to sit together on floor in front of you. Hold up your Bible.  SAY: The Bible is God’s Word.  The Bible tells us that God is everywhere! He is always with us!  (Repeat three times.)
The following activities are designed to reinforce the simple Scripture truth, encourage toddlers development, and engage their imaginations and creativity. Choose the ones that will work best for your classroom.
Parachute Fun

SUPPLIES: Parachute

DO: Demonstrate to your toddlers how to make the parachute go up and down (you will need a couple of helpers). Let them try if they are interested or just let them run under as the parachute goes up and over it when it’s down. Use the following phrases as you play:

Under! You can run under! God is under!

Over! You can run over! God is over!

Up! The parachute goes up! God is up!

Down! The parachute goes down! God is down!

God is everywhere! He is always with us!

Peek-a-boo!

DO: Play a simple game of peek-a-boo. Use hands or blankets. Every time they cover their eyes, ask, “Where is [child’s name]? Can God see [child’s name]?” When they remove the blanket or their hands, say, “Peek-a-boo! God sees you! He is here!” Use the following phrase as well, “Peek-a-boo! God is with you!”

Where is God?

SUPPLIES: You can keep this simple with no supplies, or make paper plates with emotions on them to hold up when you say each emotion (happy, sad, mad, afraid)

SAY and DO: Where is God when you are happy? (happy face) God is with you! Where is God when you are sad? (sad face) God is with you! Where is God when you are mad? (mad face) God is with you! Where is God when you are afraid? (scared face) God is with you! God is everywhere! He is always with us.

Hide-and-Seek

DO: Play simple hide and seek around your room or playground.

During the game, SAY: Can God find [child’s name]? God will always find you! God is everywhere! He is always with us!

Newspaper Fun

SUPPLIES: Lots of newspaper

DO: Show your toddlers how to ball up the newspaper. Make a huge pile of newspaper balls, and then let them have fun scattering it all around the room.

SAY: We can make the newspaper go everywhere! It’s over here; it’s over there! It is everywhere! God is everywhere! He is always with us!

Psalm 139

SUPPLIES: Bible

DO: Gather the toddlers around together on the floor or at a table. This would be great to do during snack time. Read Psalm 139, verses 7-10 over them. When you are finished, SAY, “God, you are everywhere! Thank you for always being with us!”

Praise God through Song

SUPPLIES: Songs to praise God with together.

DO: Praise God through song and dance!

Pray to God

Hold hands or bow your heads together (just demonstrate and ask them to do the same. Some may, most may just watch.) Say a short prayer like the following: Dear God, thank you for being with us always! We love you! Thank you for loving us. Amen.
