Internet Safety For Kids

In our family, we take our kids internet safety seriously. In fact, we really limit the sites and amount of time our kids have on the internet. Plus, the computer is in the most public area of the house where everyone can see exactly what it on the screen. But we are always looking for better ways to provide our kids with internet safety.

I just read about a new web browser that will help with internet safety for kids. It’s called KIDO’Z and it looks like something that could help our younger children. Basically it’s a web browser that provides internet parental controls in a kid friendly interface.  Here are some of the features that have me interested in this parental control software:

  • Easy to use, even for non-readers
  • The software is a free download
  • Not supported by ads
  • Designed for children ages 3-7

They are developing a premium version with even more parental controls. But the free version is definitely worth checking out. Thanks to Matt Keegan for his KIDO’Z review and tipping me off to this software. To download the software and test it for yourself go to the official KIDO’Z website.

Glad to have spread some good news, Tony.

Yes, we’re satisfied with KIDO’Z and will be adding some extra sites that our children like to the browser. We’ll even share those sites we deem appropriate with other KIDO’Z users which are screened first by KIDO’Z before they can be shared with everyone.

It is nice to be able to allow the kids a chance to browse without worrying that something ungodly will pop up whether accidentally or intentionally.

Matt,

The whole concept sounds great, we’re going to try it on our main family computer.
