One criticism, however.  Hansen&#039;s disease (leprosy) is not highly contagious, if this is the skin disease Naaman had.  Most people are naturally immune to it.  Leprosy in the Bible refers to any number of skin diseases and was understood to be unclean not so much because of being contagious but rather because it was considered a curse of God for sins.  Naaman&#039;s healing was associated with humility, which follows the Biblical understanding of the association of leprosy with sin/curse.</description>
