SonRise VBS LogoGospel Light has announced their new Vacation Bible School theme for 2012. It’s called “SonRise National Park VBS” and the official website is now online.

The outdoor theme is evident in their logo. The theme verse is Philippians 4:19

My God will meet all your needs
according to his glorious riches
in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 4:19, NIV

At first glance, I’m very pleased with the graphics. The animal friends will be appealing to children. The outdoor adventure angle is safe and has been done by other companies in the past.

Like other Gospel Light materials, each daily Bible story is focused on a story about Jesus Christ. This is a plus if your VBS is evangelistic, but these stories may be overly familiar to regular church kids.

The starter kit is due out in December. When we get a sample we’ll post an inside look here. Our website does not sell any curriculum, but we offer information and reviews of all the major Vacation Bible school programs and VBS thems for 2012.

I have had my kit for about a month now. I always love Gospel Light VBS. It is based in scripture and has everything you need to have a fantastic VBS. My kids still ask for songs from our VBS’s 2-3 years ago…have even had parents ask if I had any more copies of the songs on CD because their kids wore them out! There are always a lot of fantastic decorating ideas and crafts, all of which are easily adaptable to expand or make smaller. Not sure why anyone would want to go smaller though!! My kids love to create their own snack and there are always fun snacks they can “build.”. Some days I think Gospel Light should hire me as their promoter! :D

I was trying to find the different stations involved with this VBS, as well as a rotation plan. Is it up on their website anywhere?

Hi Mary

You can go here http://pub.gospellight.com/vbs/2012/sonrise-catalog/

This is an online catalog. There is a rotation guide on page 8 of the catalog.

You can also visit http://www.gospellightvbs.com/sonrise
for great information on the course.

The theme verse for this course is Philippians 4:19, not 4:1, altho that is a great verse!
“My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
The focus is on the True Peace, True Riches, True Power, True Love and True Hope that Jesus gives, even in extreme situations! The daily treks kids imagine help them to see the ways the Bible content relates to their lives. AND the skits are going to be GREAT!

Thanks so much for the correction! I’m not sure how I got that wrong, but it’s fixed now.

My church, Addisville Reformed, Richboro, PA, just completed Son Surf Beach Bash. This was an awesome, over the top, program with the most outstanding music E V E R. I can’t believe that you can top this next year. But, go ahead!

The children loved it and we’re all singing and humming the tunes. Loved teaching this program and the reception was outstanding….children crying on the last day because it ended is truth positive! Thank You!

re: VBS 2012
Got any clues as to the Bible Content for Sonrise by Gospel Light or Amazing Wonders by Lifeway?
