Praise Party VBS

This post is your chance to win a VBS starter kit from Abingdon Press called “Praise Party.” Abingdon is a division of the United Methodist Publishing House and sold through Cokesbury. You should also check out the Cokesbury VBS twitter account.

The giveaway has ended, thanks to all who entered and left such great feedback!

Praise Party was created to fit the needs of churches with an African American heritage, but this curriculum could be used in a variety of ministry settings. Here is their description of this VBS program.

Praise Party is a heritage-based Christian education curriculum that will have your community celebrating the saving grace of Jesus Christ with head, heart, hands, feet, and SOUL!! Through Bible study, crafts, skits, movement, contemporary music, and well-loved hymns and songs of the Black Church, Praise Party will create passionate worship that truly makes disciples for Jesus Christ.

How You Can Win

To enter this giveaway is simple. Just check out this video about Praise Party VBS and leave a comment below to share your first impressions. Feel free to be honest with any concerns. At first, I was a bit distracted by the presenter constantly reading the queue cards :-) and it made me concerned with the quality of the product. However, as I continued to watch the informational video, I was very pleased! Everything appears to be of great quality and seems to have the ability to hold the interest of various age groups while making learning fun and interactive. And the music sounds great, appealing to the former and current music styles. The songs were well-written, it seems. I would really enjoy using this VBS curriculum. Lastly, it was a pleasure to see the motivation of encouragement geared toward African American youth, as the majority, for a change. Great work!

I think this program is one that does a good job of bringing the idea of the arts and Creative ways to praise God together!

We are a diverse Churh. We also have a Charter School on our property. The School is 90% African American. This would be an AWESOME outreach to the school. I am the Children’s Director at our Church and am always looking for ways and opportunities to reach the families at the school as well as in our community. I think the Praise Party would be GREAT!!
Thank you!!

Before even looking at the material, I knew that this was what I wanted to teach the youth at my church. We are African American based and I was looking for something that teaches about our heritage…. Thank you for doing this.

I believe that this curriculum will cause great excitement and increase VBS youth participation. Our congregation is currently experiencing a praise party and these lessons will only promote the continuation of that!

Is this geared for African American children?
We have a very blended church. So, that would be my concern.
