Who’s ready to put the Bible back into Vacation Bible School? Check out the 2012 VBS theme just announced from Go Fish. My kids are dancing already! Leave a comment to let me know what you think.
After using their first two themes in our church, I am excited about this one too. Here are three quick reasons why I love Go Fish VBS.
- It’s an evangelistic program. There are only a few others companies out there that still try to win kids for Jesus. Sad, but true.
- It’s real music. While most publishers are working to make acceptable music, people have been buying Go Fish music for years. Not to mention their concerts rock.
- They actually use the Bible. Another obvious idea, but it’s very rare for kids to open a printed Bible in most VBS programs.
If these three features matter to your church, then you should add Go Fish PRAISE VBS to your short list for Summer 2012. No wonder our readers voted their 2011 materials as the most appealing theme last year. You might also enjoy my podcast with the band’s leader. You’ll love his passion for God’s Word and telling kids about Jesus. Here is the program synopsis:
Praise: Where kids get down and lift God high!
How do you give kids a high view of God? Go Fish believes it is by modeling a high view of Scripture. This is the third curriculum from Go Fish Publishing and it is evident that churches have gravitated to their unique approach to VBS. Featuring music from Go Fish along with Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, your kids will be movin’ and groovin’ as they learn that they exist to give God praise!

I have heard some programs are better for larger groups while others more applicable for smaller ones. Would you say this works well with both or one? I have a small group of about 40 children.
I heard of Go Fish a few years back and now we are very interested in their material. Our CE Board wants to know if there are reproducible worksheets for the kids or do we need to do them in house? The CD Rom list didn’t reference worksheets. Thanks!
I am interested in doing the Praise VBS this year at my church. Can we start with that one or do we have to start with GoFish’s first VBS program?
Any order will work, but they often recommend that churches begin with “Backstage with the Bible.”
I am used to doing another VBs w/ a dvd of the motions to songs to learn as I lead the kids in worship. Is their such a thing with Praise and do I have to be a hip hop dancer to do them?
Their DVD can lead the children, but we usually have a few adult leaders too. The advanced dance moves aren’t really for the kids to try to learn, but some might try!
This will be our 3rd year doing GoFish too. We have loved them all! I rec’d my starter kit already and will soon start the planning. We have found the cratfs to be not that great before but that goes for almost ALL the other publishers as well so we always do our own ideas. OTherwise these guys do a fantastic job on everything else!!!!
Hi, My name is Eloise Gooden and I will be overseeing our 2012 Vacation Bible School and this is my first time putting a project like this together. Last year was my very first time in my life ever going to a vacation bible school at my church. The dropped in my spirit to do something regarding “Fishing” and when I saw your them I became excited. I looked at your video and loved the song. How can I purchase a copy of your CD music for the GOFISH. Thank you for any ideas also to help me. I am new at this. By the way I am 48 years old and as I stated last year was the first time I ever attended a vacation bible school.
You can buy them directly from the Go Fish website or local Christian bookstores.
I would really appreciate a contact number so that I can speak with someone in person. I am very interested in the material but need to know if it will fit with our church.
There should be an 800 number on the Go Fish website.
