Trevin Wax's Book

Earlier this week, my friend Trevin Wax sent me a copy of his new book “Holy Subversion.”  I’ve been a fan of this book since he started writing it a few years back.  He even let read a draft when he was finishing up.

Now that the book is finally out, I am glad to recommend it. Trevin shares some real insights into being a Christ-follower in our modern culture. This book will challenge you to give your first allegiance to Jesus, no matter what pretender “Lords” our society follows.

The book giveaway has now ended, here is the link to future giveaways on our blog.  Be sure to check out the book anyway.

Here is my short video review. For more information, you can download a sample chapter from WTSbooks.com

This sounds like a really good book. I like how it makes practical comparisons between Christianity today and the NT church. Basically, this book is talking about living holy lives in every aspect of our of lives, and not compromising our faith with the values of this world. It sounds good, look forward to reading it.

Book sounds great. I have always believed the church of today has misplaced priorities because they have misplaced worship to the idols of today. We need a first century church in the 21st century.

This sounds like an awesome book and one that I’d really like to read. Teaching our own children as well as our Sunday school classes proper values based on our faith and not what today’s society conciders valuable can be very challenging. This book would be most helpful as a resource. I hope that I win one!

This book looks excellent, and the beginning chapter has enticed me. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win a copy. I’ve recently stumbled upon Trevin Wax’s blog and I’ve really enjoyed what he has to write, and his writing style.

Critical! We need to get this book into modern day history books. It is like a Fresh Drink of Water to my spirit having some True History to ponder and meditate on. Thank you and if I when I will be sure to hand them out. Lorie Scobee

This book is such a great read–Trevin has marvelously laid out the idols of our culture, and laced each chapter with a great gospel antidote. Highly recommend it–and look forward to passing this along to others.

My husband and I are already being asked questions by our 17yr old and our 14 yr old about the importance we as parents put on our Christian walk. They think the middle ground they walk with their non-churched friends won’t affect them. This book sounds helpful in our continued parenting of our “young adults”. Thanks for making me aware of it. Thank you for this opportunity to win a copy!

I read through the download at the WTS site and all I can say is WOW! What a timely book. There are so many things that pull, tug and yank at our commitments to Christ and the gospel. Especially I think every parent with teenagers should read this book. I am so frustrated with my own self at times and other parents (in the church I might add) who are chasing every thing but the Main Thing!
Can’t wait to read this one!! Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy.

Trevin gives the church the dose of medicine it needs. He shows how the gospel is not limited merely to the salvation of our sold but the salvation of our whole lives. God does not just want a right relationship with Him in eternity but in the here-and-now as well.

I look forward to reading this book. The world has a huge hold on many in the church and we need to break free so that we can have the impact on our communities that the New Testament church had on their world.

I think Trevin does a great job in comparing the modern church to the first-century church. The church described at the end of Acts 2 sets the bar for doing church God’s way, and I’m looking forward to Trevin’s dissection of the disconnect between church then and church now.

I would love to read a fellow classmates take on the Caesar’s of the world. We can always use encouragement on how to subvert our idols.

I read the introduction or first chapter online. This looks like a great book. I will be putting it on my reading list. Christians need to hear this message. My hope and prayer is that Christians will not only read and hear the mesage of this book, but take action and do something about how we live in our culture. Can you imagine a Church that rejected the “Caesars of our day”.

Wow! I would agree that the church today needs to seriously take some pointers from the Early Church. We do alot of saying what we sould do, but we get comfortable in our Christianity for sure!

This book sounds like it addresses something we as Christians have been missing. It is so easy for us to inadvertently worship our lifestyles when we should be intentionally worshiping our Lifegiver.

I think this book would be a great asset to every christian. I believe this would be a great book to use in the classroom. To help the children learn that it is everyone that follows Christ that has to deny things of the modern culture and not just them. I would like to be out into the drawing for the book.

This book intrigues me. I love a good read that sets my brain to work. As Christians, we all need improvement, and this book is just the starting off point we can use to get us motivated. The writing style is straight-forward, informative, positive and enriching – very easy to read and follow, but not “dumbed down”. I can see how one could pull ideas from this to use while ministering or even sermonizing. I can’t wait to send the link to my Pastor. Thanks so much for posting it to your site!
