VBS 2010 – The title of this study is Soul Survivors on Danger Island and the work is progressing nicely. This VBS program teaches how God gives victory over obstacles in life. It is based on Romans 8:37.

o VBS 2011 – The title of this study is Treasure Quest – Pursuing the Riches of Christ. The lessons are based on Paul’s statement about Christ in Colossians 2:2, 3.

Hey all–

I am 22 years old trying to follow God’s call in my life. I believe He is leading me to write low-cost, Scripture-driven VBS programs. By His grace and will, I wrote one this summer centering on the armor of God passage found in Ephesians 6:11-18. It is a full program and can be adapted for any church size, as long as people are willing to volunteer. I provide craft and snack ideas, but do not include the actual materials as I believe it is cheaper to purchase the necessary items in one’s own hometown. I also provide drama scripts and dialog to help guide the leaders.

I have the administrator’s manual, teacher’s manual, and children’s workbooks on three developmental levels. Now I don’t know what to do with them. I want to get this program out into the world, but don’t know where to begin. Could anyone help me? Is any church interested in using this program? I can provide more information and samples if desired.

Thank you for your help and God bless!

Tara Do you havea web page. If not you could make one real easily by going to webs.com formerly freewebs.com and make a free website. You could put your info on there and set up a store. For a small fee they will upgrade your free site and you could then add your sitename to search engines such as google, msn-bing and yahoo. I would like to know more about your VBS curriculum. I do a low to no cost summer camp for low-income families, I would like to see if your curiculum is one that I could use for next summer Please email me. summerfellowshipprograms@live.com

If you’d like, I just got all of our digi-pacs (data disk and music disk) on Friday, and can send you one to preview, and if you like it… a few to give away…. I believe that is what you suggested…..

Let me know what you think when you get a chance. Thank you very much.

Hi, I love VBS and feel a call to help promote this ministry. I know there are a lot of churches that do not do a VBS for many reasons..some of which they do not understand the importance and potential impact on the Kingdom of God, and some just have no idea where to start. I would love to assist these churches in implementing a VBS program in their church or even talking to them about what a window of opportunity VBS really is and how it is not just something we do in the simmer! Please email me if you know of anyone who might be interested in getting started!

Oriental Trading now has a couple sets of curriculum. We implemented the Jonah series last year. It was well-received by the kids. And you can get tons of stuff that fit the theme from OT, too.

They now have Jonah, Noah, Adam & Eve, and the birth of Jesus.

A great option for small churches working on a tight budget!

I think most of the larger publishers (LifeWay, Group, etc) have some format suggestions in their directors manual for doing a multi-week VBS. That would be a good place to start and modify to meet your needs.

As instruction committee chair, I always am disappointed at the fluff offered for VBS programs. I have been pleased with Child Evangelism and Close Encounters Ministries. They both offer the gospel and opportunities for children to commit their lives to Christ(very important when reaching nonchurched kids). Close Encounters offers 1 day programs. We used that successfully last year. Great for getting your VBS helpers but no opportunity for kids to spread the word and bring their friends to other days as in a 5 day schedule.

I volunteered at a GCB Mega Sports camp last year. It was a fun camp, and nice for a change. Of course, outdoor weather plays a more vital role. We did basketball, soccer, and cheer. I don’t know if that was the church’s choice or the camp’s recommendation. It did get very hot a few days and they had to move cheer indoors. The theme’s were great though. A lot of young guys and dads like to help because of the sport’s theme.

We have craft kits and decorations from VBS classes in years past that we want to donate to anyone wishing to use them for their VBS classes. Please contact me at scoobacci AT gmail DOT com and will provide a list of craft and decoration supplies that we have. We will not reuse these items and they may save money for a church struggling to get the items they need for a VBS program. Someone can take it all for just shipping fees. Please contact me as the ladies of the church are cleaning house and want to put all this good stuff to a good use.
