Creation Coloring Pages “God Made the Sky”

by Mandy Groce | Bible Coloring Pages | Print Print |

Here is our next printable coloring sheet about God’s work of creation. Each of these have been made by Mandy Groce, an illustrator from Louisville, KY. Please leave your comments below if you would like to let her know how you are using these resources.

This coloring picture depicts the events from Genesis 1:6-8 where God separates the water and names the sky. This is a beautiful verse, but something of a challenge to visualize. This visual features layers of water being forced apart as God makes room for the sky.

And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. Genesis 1:6-8 NIV

You can find many teaching resources on our website about the Biblical story of creation. We have a whole series of creation lesson plans and even a Bible storybook about creation. This coloring sheet would be the perfect add-on to your Sunday School lessons about creation from Genesis 1. Don’t miss all our creation coloring sheets.

Thank you so much for making this material available for Sunday Schools and others; I was a bit stuck for colouring in ideas for my 2-6 class until I found these pages!

Hi Mandy! We are a small NGO working with the underprivileged children in Kolkata [India] I was searching for simple & reasonable ideas online for our Summer Camp, as we have very low budget for this.
I would like to thank you & everyone @ ministry-to-children.com for all the drawings and great craft ideas which is of great help for our Summer Camp. I’m sure the children & their teacher’s at our center are gonna enjoy the drawing & crafts.
God Bless you all…

Thanks so much Mandy for the colouring in pages. They are all a great help to me in Sunday School as I am not at all artistic or creative but I love teaching Gods word to children. Without the coulouring pages I think the lessons would not be attended with such joy. They help to make a lesson time some fun as well.
Thanks again, Roslyn

Hi Mandy! I pastor a small church with many new converts. 90% of our children (about ten in all) have no Bible background. We’re trying to get started with a couple of Sunday School classes. I have two classes – an elementary class for 3rd to 6th grade and a beginner class for age four to 2nd grade. Do you have any series of lessons on the basics – maybe about Jesus, salvation – that we could use to get started with these kids? I’m searching online because we have no budget for this – though it is of the utmost priority.

thanks – Pastor Bob Bernard

Mandy, Thanks so much for using your gift of drawing for God’s glory!! I’m so excited to share these creation pictures with the children at our church! You are helping us to make a nice file of color pages to go along with our lessons. We are a small church and our budget for children’s church is non-existent. Bless you!!!

May god bless the work of your hands and also bless all who use there time in teaching the young kids, who Jesus said any one who will welcome anyone of this little one in His name welcomes Him. let us join hands in building the next generation that fears the Lord.
