What is Goodness? The Fruit of the Spirit Part 6

These crafts focus on the characteristic of goodness and how we can experience and demonstrate it. God is good, and we can strive to leave lives of virtue. A reversible Good Samaritan puppet allows students to recall and act out the story of the Good Samaritan. A “Well of Goodness” decoration considers how God’s goodness pours into us and what the results are. Let’s get crafty!

Craft One: Good Samaritan Puppet

You will need:

  • Paper bags
  • Construction paper or cardstock
  • Staples, glue, or tape
  • Band-aids
  • Scissors
  • Decorative elements as desired
  • Markers or crayons

2. Decorate the reverse side of the bag to loo like the good Samaritan who stopped to help.
3. Add extra decorations, including band-aids, if desired.
4. Add verses and captions to the final product. Use to retell the story.

Bible Verses or Craft Captions to Consider…

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  -Galatians 6:9

Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you,  in the sight of the children of mankind! -Psalm 31:19

God’s goodness overflows abundantly! I can praise Him for His goodness!

Never tire of doing good!
