When I first wrote about Baby Dedication, I didn’t anticipate the interest it would generate. It seems like many parents and pastors are looking for solid information about conduction a baby dedication service.
This post brings together all the information I have found helpful concerning dedicating children to the Lord. I have linked sources where available. If you know of other resources – please leave a comment so I can keep this list up to date.

Baby Dedication at Southeast Christian Church
Southeast Christian Church is one of the largest churches in America. They are located in Louisville, KY. They are know for their commitment to the Word of God and their excellent children’s ministries. Here is the instructions for baby dedication from their website.
Baby Dedication is…
- An opportunity to thank God for the precious gift of your child.
- An opportunity to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home.
- A benchmark you can return to time and time again.
- A family dedication, where the parents commit themselves to abide by biblical principles and to raise their children according to God’s standards.

I have the honor of conducting my one year old grand daughters baby dedication the end of April. I would like to acknowledge and include her 2 years old sister in the dedication. Does anyone have thoughts or ideas of how to include the older sister? Anything would be helpful.
Great resource!!!! Thank you so much!!!
This is great information and we share the same views and we do close to a similar format. I also suggest maybe you can viedo the ceromony for the parents and ask the parents to give a $5 donation to go towards your media ministry. The parents might want more copies so that family members that were not able to attend will be able to see the baby gets dedicated. Also Have the parents and baby take a picture with the Pastor and First Lady with the Pastor holding the baby or whatever set up you will have so that when the baby grows up or get married one day, he or she can look back and see the importance of being dedicated.
I am looking for free materials for DVBS please help my ministry in searching this manuals thank you.
Thank you for this helpful information. I would also like to share that we have found a wonderful resource for personalized Christian baby dedication gifts and certificates. They are done by a very talented American artist Linda Paige-Tolis. They may be seen at paige-tolisdesigns.com/baby-dedication-gifts/html . I think you too will be delighted.

You can listen to the song, In Good Hands (Baby Dedication Song), on my website, benchilcote.com.
