Here is Mandy’s explanation of this picture:

Week one of advent – I was aiming to symbolize our inherent desire to share our hope with the hopeless in this page.  The boy is reaching out to his friend with God’s good and perfect word in mind.  The Christmas season can be a sad one for many people who need our reminders to them of the hope that we have in Jesus.

This Christmas coloring page show a young girl lighting an advent candle. She has a tear on her face and appears to be crying. A young boy extends his hand to offer comfort. The caption reads, “Because of Jesus we have hope.”
The Bible reference is Isaiah 60:1-3 which says,

1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
