Parable of the Sower Teaching Aids

We just posted a new lesson plan based on Jesus’ parable of the Soils. Here are some additional learning activities that will help you teach this Bible story. This well known Bible story explains why different people have different responses when they hear the teachings of Jesus.  Please leave a comment to share your ideas with other readers.

Parable of the Soils Object Lesson

Watch this video from Seeds Family Worship as the demonstrate this parable to a younger child. You could do this same illustration in your class or show this video if you have a larger class. I like this as a hands on learning activity for preschoolers.

Video Story: The Parable of the Sower

You could use this animated video clip to teach the parable of the sower. It follows very close to the Bible passage and the added visuals will help children better understand what Jesus was saying. This would be helpful in a family devotion or homeschooling setting. If you have media access in your children’s church it would also work with a large group of children.

Preschool Song About Seeds

If you are teaching a preschool class, you might like this video from Cullen’s Abc’s. It is a simple song about how seeds grow. You could use it along with a preschool lesson about Jesus’ parable of the sower.
