Toddler/Preschool Websites for Homeschooling

Print Friendly and PDF

one-plusWhile homeschooling school-age children, we often forget that our little ones need some structured learning as well. I’m not saying that they should be sitting there for hours on end every day, but it is good for them to have a few structured activities to do where they do have to sit for just a few minutes. If you don’t follow a curriculum for your toddler/preschooler it can be difficult coming up with learning activities that don’t require a lot of prep. time.
I love being able to look online and printing off different activities for my son to use. There are so many great websites that could be used with toddler and preschool children so I am listing just some toddler/preschool websites that have some wonderful ideas to use with our youngest homeschool children.
http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.net – I use this website a lot with my 3 year old. Carisa has some wonderful printable themes that cover various skills like ABCs, shapes, numbers, and colors. She has themes such as the Farm, Cars – the movie, Mickey Mouse, and Doc McStuffins. She has Bible activities and shows you how she teaches her children to read and write. There are also ideas for older children on this website that are great to use.
http://www.2teachingmommies.com – This site also has a lot of wonderful printables to use. There are a lot of Bible and Bible Verse printables. They also have seasonal theme units that you can print and use right away with your child.
http://www.abchomepreschool.com/Bible/PreschoolBibleStories.htm – This website has Bible stories that are easily understood by preschoolers. Some of them are made with pictures and audio, if needed.
http://www.homeschoolcreations.net – This website has ideas for all ages. She has some great themes that she has printables for. Some theme include Angry Birds, Back to School, and Jesse Bear. She also has some Bible themes and printables like ABC Bible Verses and Flashcards. For the older ones, she has created some fantastic geography units.
http://www.bibleforchildren.org/languages/english/stories.php – This website has 60 different Bible stories for children of all ages. Not only do they have the story for you, they have a color printable version, a coloring book printable version, and a Powerpoint version.
pbskids.org – This website has all of your favorite PBS Kids TV shows in their own games for the kids to play. My 3 year old loves to play the Sesame Street games, as well as Super Why, Wild Kratts, and Curious George. There are great games for them to play online as well as printable coloring sheets for them to do later.
ministry-to-children.com – Of course, our very own Ministry To Children website has some fabulous preschool Bible lessons to use. Within the lessons, there are stories, activities, coloring pages, printable books, and Bible Verses with hand motions. These lessons can be used with a Preschool Sunday School class or with your own preschooler at home.
Whenever you see something online that someone has done with their child, keep in mind that every child is different. Your child may have a different learning style, attention span, or ability level. Remember to do things with your child that will challenge them, but not frustrate them. Most of all, have fun with your preschooler, as this time is precious and will be over too soon.
