Most Christian parents and Sunday School teachers say that Bible memorization is important for children. It helps kids hide God’s Word in their heart and builds a framework for interpreting life.
But what Bible memory verses should I start with?
Here are the kids bible memory verses that I recommend as a good starting point. They will help children think about the character of God. By starting with easy Bible verses, the children will have confidence to learn more. These are also great to use as preschool Bible verses.
10 Easy Bible Memory Verses For Kids

Hebrews 13:8- Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
These are all great. I teach a preschool class and recently had them memorize
1 Corinthians 13:4-8. We made up a little song to it. They loved it. Especially when we sang the song. They caught on very quickly and got excited every time we said it was time to do a memory verse. I’m looking for a new one for them to memorize now. Any suggestions?
There are several great suggestions in this comment thread.
Poem
Always say, “thank you. Always say”please”.
When we’re ungreateful
God is not pleased.
Answer politely, do it with ease.
Always say :thank you:.
Always say, “please.
Poem
He Made the Stars to Shine
He made the stars to shine;
He made the rolling sea.
He made the mountains high
and He made me.
But this is why I love Him:
For me He bled and died;
The Lord of all creation
Became the Crucufied.
Jesus, the Son of God,
From death has been set free;
and now on Heaven’s throne
He cares for me.
If you will trust the Savior,
Your life will be made new
And God the Holy Spirit
Will come to live in you.
JOY-Jesus Others You
Poem:
I Don’t Have to Wait
I don’t have to wait
until I’m grown-up
To be loving and true;
There are many little
deeds of kindness
That each day I can do.
I can read my Bible and pray,
Be a loving helper alway;
I don’t have to wait
until I’m grown-up
To be what Jesus
wants me to be.
If I’m old enough
to love my parents,
I can know Jesus’ love;
I can learn to trust Him
and obey Him,
For He watches above.
Song
I Love America
I love America!
Oh, I love this land.
I love America!
With justice
may she stand.
Grounded on
the Word of God,
A nation of
the free;
I love America!
The land of our liberty.

I have a 3 year old son who is crazy about books so I have started taking Bible verses and finding a picture to represent each word of the verse. I have the pictures posted on a corkboard in the kitchen and we go over it several times a day. I will leave a scripture up for one week and then turn the pictures into a book for him. He LOVES it and is memorizing Scripture quickly!
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

I volunteered to be Prayer Coach at our VBS this July. Our theme is sports minded so I am the Prayer Coach. I’ve never taught anyone about prayer , even though I do pray on my own daily.
I am working with children Preschool-6th grade. I’ve found some good ideas on here but if someone has ideas for “coaching” prayer, I would appreciate an email! thank you!
