Bob Singleton from God’s Kids Worship sent me a review copy of their special encouragement resource DVD titled The Story in their Eyes.
The idea is to show this video at a teacher appreciation event or use it in recruiting volunteers for your children’s ministry. I could imagine some churches would show it directly to their congregation during a Sunday Morning Service.
The cool part about this resource is how each church can customize it. The DVD includes a standard version of the video, but also the files need to make a PowerPoint version using pictures from your own church. He’s also made a version of the video without lead vocals, so you can have a soloist perform the song.
Here is a link to watch the video for yourself, you can also order/learn more on their website.

Story In Their Eyes Lyrics
“The Story In Their Eyes” Composed & Produced by Bob Singleton. © 2006 Agnes Day Music, BMI. recording p 2006 Creative Ministries Project. CCLI SONG NO. 5061912.
Dedicated to Children’s Ministry volunteers and professionals all over the world
VS 1
In the eyes of every child
Behind their tears, behind their smile
Is a story of their life and times
More than what they heard in nursery rhymes
A story showing in their eyes
The story starts, and then it grows
It’s what they see, it’s what they know
If they see the love of Jesus clearly
Learn to hold on to Him dearly
You’ll see the love of God grow in their eyes.
Chorus
There’s a story in the eyes of every child
It’s their journey, every turn, and every smile
Will they see Jesus before their hearts grow cold
And hear the Truth before their souls grow old,
Will Jesus be the story in their eyes.
VS 2
They need to see; they need a guide
With open heart, arms open wide
Simple acts of love can deeply reach them
Simple words that deeply teach them
Opening a world of hope in their eyes
It’s all they ask; it isn’t much,
A little time, a gentle touch.
If we help to reach a child’s heart, then
We can have a tiny part in
Jesus in the story in their eyes.
Chorus
There’s a story in the eyes of every child
It’s their journey, every turn, and every smile
Help them see Jesus before their hearts grow cold
And hear the Truth before their souls grow old,
Help Jesus be the story in their eyes.
Bridge
Turn their eyes on Jesus
With everything you say
Turn their eyes on Jesus
With everything you do
Turn their eyes on Jesus
In every little way
Fill their souls, fill their lives
Fill their hearts, fill their eyes
With Jesus!
Chorus
There’s a story in the eyes of every child
It’s their journey, every turn, and every smile
Let them see Jesus before their hearts grow cold
And hear the Truth before their souls grow old,
Let Jesus be the story in their eyes
Let Jesus be the story in their eyes
Let them see Jesus,
Let them see Jesus.

Pam Houle & FBC kids were selected as the winners. Thanks for all who checked it out.
I would use this video to help with our recruiting for our Children’s ministry. We always seem to be in constant need for additional voluteers. We are trying to be proactive.
Hi!
I will show the video to our congregation in Connecticut! I think this video will touch and inspire our people to volunteer during our VBS this year!
Our 2010 Vacation Bible School is at the end of August! We are in desperate need of people with a passion to reach the children in our community for Christ and become Sunday School teachers! Pray with us for the Lord to meet this need! Thank you!
By the way it is my first time in this website! I love teaching children the love of Christ! I see great resources in your website!
Many thanks!
Blessings,
Maria Stephenson

Dear Tony,
Thank you so much for your newsletter. It has been of great value. As I looked at the lyrics of :In Their Eyes – it spoke greatly to the mission of our children’s ministry. I have great need to bring Jesus to the children, instilling in them the hope, the joy, the love that can only be found in Him. There is no greater joy for me than to see our children and youth excited for Christ.
Our church may slip away from your typical setting as we set forth as a missional church to reach people for Christ, mentor and educate and then send forth as disciples. So, I have seen an influx of children coming from parents who are new to the faith, so as parents are learning about the Lord, their children are not to far behind and they can share and learn together.
Our youth are, for the most, from families who do not attend church and face some hard situations at home.
God has led us to a new ministry, RHF – Restoring Humanity Foundation (human trafficing). It will be a big focus of our church. As we learn more about this abomination, my heart breaks and the need to do more is greatly needed. Right now we are being educated from government agencies and working together to put a viable ministry together.
This song has great meaning to anybody in the ministry and not just children’s ministry.
God bless you and your ministry,
Lynda Gunter
I would use this dvd as a recruiting tool and to help dispel the myth that children’s ministry is simply babysitting. So many people have this misconception. I want them to understand that what we do IS ministry and that it has a purpose. Jesus is in the nursery just like he’s in the sanctuary every Sunday.
I LOVE this! We could use it in our promotion of our Wednesday Night Kids Ministry and in recruiting workers for that ministry! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Awesome! I plan to get one to customize it for our WebberKIDS Ministry!
I would love to use this video to recruit the volunteers for our children’s programs. We have a lot of turn over in volunteers because of being on a military base so this video would help make transitions easier.
