As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked back. There were the Egyptians marching after them! The Israelites were terrified. They said to Moses, “Why did you bring us to the desert to die? Tell them, ‘When the sun goes down, you will eat meat. In the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’ ” That evening quail came and covered the camp. In the morning the ground around the camp was covered with dew. When the dew was gone, thin flakes appeared on the desert floor. They looked like frost on the ground. But they couldn’t find any fault with his work. Finally these men said, “It is impossible for us to bring charges against Daniel. If we find a reason, it will have to be in connection with the law of his God.” So the leaders and the royal rulers said to the king, “King Darius, you should give an official order that for the next 30 days, anyone who prays to any god except you will be thrown into the lions’ den. King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. He arrested Peter and imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. While Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. The night before Peter’s trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick!
