You can’t get everything done.
None of us have enough time, energy, or skill to accomplish everything.
Real wisdom comes in knowing what to put first and what to let slide. Our temptation is to do all the “public” tasks first. We don’t want to let other people down, so things that get noticed get done first.
This is wrong and more dangerous than we imagine.
The most important portion of your ministry is the secret hours you spend shepherding your own soul toward Christ. This is the essential ingredient to anything else you do publicly for the LORD.
Take a passage: Read it to yourself. Teach it to yourself. Pray it for yourself.
Make this your daily pattern. It is the the true habit of godliness upon which all real ministry is established. Decide now to fail in every possible way today, except in your walk with Christ.
