So I have put together this skit to help with teaching this most valuable lesson to your students. This skit is a great way to put your students “in the action” of the story and to “see” what the story is all about.

You feel like quitting, right? One question: Is this a normal day in your classroom? If it is, you may need some keys to success to help you get through. Quitting is not the

Advent Devotional: The Reason For It All

As we get closer to the Advent season, I am reminded to keep everything in perspective. I can get overwhelmed with Christmas programs, lessons that need to be written, children that need my attention, and just normal everyday life. It seems as we do get closer to the holidays, we get busier. School programs, church functions, and family get-togethers all seem to crowd our calendar so much that it’s hard to enjoy it. Have we scheduled in time

Jesus' Family Tree: Matthew 1:1-16 & Luke 3:23-38 Genealogy

I was reading in the Bible where it lists the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:1-16 & Luke 3:23-38). I thought how great would it be for the students in my class to learn about Jesus’ family tree and the bloodline that He came from in order to fulfill prophecy of the Old Testament? So I put together these cards that will end up looking like a tree in the end, if you follow the format that

Learning the Books of the Bible

Right now, I am teaching my kindergartener to memorize the books of the Bible. Before we began, I wasn’t too sure if he would be able to do it, but I thought that I would give it a try. I have been pleasantly surprised! He is doing very well with it all and really seems to like learning such a “grown up” thing such as this. Throughout this process, we are still in the midst of it,

Be Thankful for Trials: Devotional

November. A month of being thankful. We in America take this time of the year to think about our blessings and are thankful for what we have and the people we have around us. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 tells us to, “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” “in everything give thanks”…This seems really easy, especially when things are going well. We are happy as long

December / Christmas Bible Reading Calendar

For the month of December, I have created a Bible Reading Calendar for the children in my class. I really want to get them into the habit of reading their Bible, and what better way than to have them reading the Christmas story? As you can see in the calendar, the children will be reading only a few verses each day. I did this so that it wasn’t too overwhelming for the children. Also, if they miss

7 Days of Creation Song

The story of Creation is a familiar story that many churches do over and over. This is good, except, we may run out of things to do with the story. Singing is always a great activity for children. It gets them directly involved, moving, and thinking about what they are singing. This is what the “7 Days of Creation” song is for. I was thinking of Christmas and the song, “The 12 Days of Christmas”, popped in
