The children in my Preschool/Kindergarten class are learning how to read and write. They are interested in learning how to spell different words and writing things for themselves while we are doing projects. They’re eyes light up when they recognize how to spell, write, or read certain words. What better word to know how to spell than the name of our Lord and Savior. I made this Jesus Puzzle so that they would learn to spell the name of Jesus. All they do is find the J-E-S-U-S letters in a row and circle them.
The name of Jesus is written over and over throughout the puzzle. It’s sort of a first word search for early readers/spellers. I can just picture my class spelling J-E-S-U-S over and over while they are finding the name in the puzzle. Repetition is a great way to learn and this is just that. To get them started, you, as the teacher, can talk about how to spell Jesus and even write it on the white board to help them in the beginning. I don’t think it will take them very long to catch on though. Completing this puzzle will give your children confidence in their spelling/reading as well as teaching them how to spell the name of Jesus.
