Sometimes it can be very time consuming to prepare for a lesson. Gathering supplies, making copies, going to the store to buy those harder to gather supplies, all takes time. Having lesson buckets for classrooms makes it easier for teachers to teach.
When I was put over the Children’s Ministries, I soon realized that all of the teachers were buying all of their own supplies. It’s difficult to find, and keep teachers, and this was one thing that I could do to help in that area. I wanted to make it easier for them each week, so I decided to put together teacher buckets.
I bought some buckets from the Dollar Tree to begin with. Then I went through the classroom curriculum for the next few months making a list of all of the supplies necessary to complete the lessons along with a list of basic supplies that are good to have each week in the classrooms. Then I went to the store to gather the needed supplies. I put basic supplies into each classroom, including: construction paper, crayons, markers, glue, stapler, etc. Then each week, I put together a bucket for each classroom. The bucket includes any supplies they will need to complete the lesson as well as any copies that they required. It has been working really well so far this year. The teachers appreciate the time and money saved.
