Hallelujah Chorus Invades a Mall Food Court [Video]

Surprise Hallelujah Chorus at Mall Food Court

What would happen if the worship of Christ invaded a shopping Mall at Christmastime?

Watch the video below and you can see firsthand. Turn up your computer speaker and enjoy! It’s really an amazing experience. I love how all the regular shoppers join in as the song continues.

How would you feel if you were one of the shoppers that day? Click here to leave a comment below.

Two things I love about the Christmas season. The sense of community and the joy that comes from a good surprise. That more than anything else is what keeps the festive feeling of the season. That’s not to diminish the reality of Christ’s incarnation – he’s the ultimate expression of those two.

I would like to experience this in real life. Watching it was great. A much needed thing in these times. God bless them and may they continue to be a blessing to others.

I watched it for the first time today. It was beautiful!! I learned the hallelujah chorus almost 30 years ago and I still know the alto part. Was was so impressed by all the people in the video who obviously remembered it too. I’m sure it brought back wonderful memories for them too.

Was it just me? SURELY that field was ripe for harvest . . . ? I was dying for someone to say something at the end – just 45 seconds, a sound bite, “God is here ! This is the good news ! And He wants each of us – lock, stock, and barrell, cos He loves us SO much . . . ”
As for me, if I had been there, (I pray) I would have stood on a chair, tried to call order, and at least thanked those singers and whoever organised them for bringing us SUCH a wonder-ful glimpse of heaven . . . or were they angels in disguise? Either way, I’m afraid I would have unashamedly bawled my eyes out . . . like I did a few minutes ago ! HALLELUJAH !

This is what Christmas should really be about, the sharing of ones soul through a song from ones heart!!!!!

  5. says

This moves me on so many different levels. The first time I saw it, I stood up…just couldn’t help it. Even now, my eyes are welling up.
Thanks for sending this my way again. I needed the extra “boost” this morning.

  6. Sharon says

What a ministry. This may be the only real representation of what Christmas really is that some may hear/see this season. Tears came. :)

  7. Gloria Moore says

I would like to say, that was totally wonderful! You know there are still people that acknowledge the freedom IN GOD WE TRUST and are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation!! And what Honor it gives the King worshiping Him in the presence of a society that says take God out, and bring our tradition and our ways in!! And to join in and submit their voices to the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS wow, I know it pleased GOD, to see and hear the sacrifice of praise through that awesome song!! For it tells who and what HE is!! Amen ! and AMEN It sure blessed my husband and I. If we had been there we would of sure joined in.

I would have felt more Blessed than I already do at this very moment. I just watched the video, and watching the ppl at the food court, and the children, hearing the song just made my heart ring for joy. I truly miss Christmas Caroling. We did it all the time when I was a child. Put the CHRIST in Christmas where it belongs at this time of the year, and each and EVERY day….

I experienced it first hand in Nordstrom’s at Northpark Mall in Dallas, TX today! It was absolutely moving and one of the coolest things I’ve ever been a part of….in this day and time….we need to do this more often! Happy Holidays! Smiles of joy…..

  12. Lisa Huntsberger says

That was awesome!!! I wud love to see more public appearances. Who were they? Thank you. Loved it and Im not an opera person.

  13. Carolyn says

I would have chills run through me at first, marveling at the beautiful singing and courage to proclaim Christ’s birth for all to hear. Then, I would refocus on why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus, the Son of God, becoming one of us! Awesome.

  14. Tess Acueza says

This is amazing! When the King of kings and Lord of lords is present,
everyone is united! I love this video!

  15. Amy says

It was really something. It made me cry. Just made me wonder how many of us including myself would be willing to do it, spontaneous or other wise. However in our mall there are people dressed in costume who sing religious Christmas songs. It is truly wonderful to hear people singing our Saviors praises for all to hear.

  16. says

wow was so amazing I was feeling the present of the Lord, He promise to come again and before that Canada will be feel the present of the Holy Spirit more strong than ever and the name of Lord of the Lords Jesus our savior.

  17. rosalindbaker says

What a fantastic idea, of course I would join in. That’s such a great way to remind shoppers what Christmas is all about. Thank you for blessing me as I watched on u tube.

I wish you all a blessed Christmas and great New Year.

  18. Fred says

I like The Hallelujah Chorus, and it was well-performed… but let’s not be fooled into thinking that this was spontaneous – this was a professional choir sprinkled throughout the people there, so this was planned. If I had been there dining, it would be a nice surprise. But let’s not be fooled into thinking that this was a spontaneous outbreak of song.

  19. Brenda says

THIS IS AWESOME!!!! I know the Lord was pleased with this concert in the foodcourt. My heart is filled with Joy and I too praised God as the choir praised him with song.

  20. Kimberly Kantorik says

Incredible and amazing! It gave me chills just to watch it! I probably would have been in tears had I been there in person. Truly inspiring!

  25. says

This is so absolutely magical!!! I’ve love to have been there -and I’d love to participate in something like this this season to bring Joy and Peace to shoppers, reminding them of the true meaning of the season…..

  26. maria says

WOW! that was awesome and amazing. Teared up a little at the end. The new music is good but sometimes an old Hymn is what the doc ordered

  27. Linda says

This is absolutely wonderful! So glad you did this! Wish I’d been there! So nice to see the Lord praised in a public place — such a refreshing change from the usual news accounts.
