Fruitful Love – The Fruit of the Spirit Part 1

The fruit of the Spirit is a powerful way to consider how we exemplify our faith and the work of God in our lives. The “fruitful” qualities we see help show God’s love to others, too. The “Spiritual Fruit Basket” craft introduces the concept of spiritual fruit and lists all of the categories. A “Love Card” provides a way to show someone care. Have fun and get crafty!

Craft: “Spiritual Fruit Basket”

You will need:

  • Construction Paper or cardstock
  • Paper plates
  • Stapler (or glue/tape)
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Decorative elements as desired
  • Markers or crayons

Procedure:
1. Cut several fruit shapes out of construction paper or cardstock.
2. Cut a paper plate in half. Decorate the sides like a basket, and add captions.
3. Add captions on the fruits to indicate the names of the fruit of the Spirit characteristics.
4. Attach a handle to the “basket.” Place the fruits inside and display as desired to remember the fruit of the Spirit and what it means.

Craft: “Love Card”

You will need:

  • Tape or glue
  • Crayons or markers
  • Scissors
  • Construction paper or cardstock
  • Stickers or decorative items.

Procedure:

  1. Cut paper or cardstock into heart shapes (multiple sizes, if desired).
  2. Decorate the hearts (and glue together, if necessary) to be a card.
  3. Add special messages, verses, and captions to the card, designing it for someone loved.
  4. Add extra decorations as desired (stickers, glitter, etc.).
  5. Deliver to remind a special person you love them!

Verses or Captions to Consider… (Galatians 5:13-25; 1 John 4:16-21)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. -Galatians 5:22-23

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.-1 John 4:16

Do you have the fruit of the Spirit?

The fruit of the Spirit is…

I love you…and want to show I care!
