When I was a kid, we used to watch the Bozo Show. Bozo was a clown and they had kids play different games on the show. We loved watching the kids win their prizes.
My favorite game on the show was called the Bozo Game. It was where there were 6 buckets line up behind each other in a line. Someone stood in front of the first bucket and threw a ball into it. If they made it, they got a prize and got to try for the 2nd bucket. They kept going through the buckets until they missed.
Why can’t we do the same game with practicing the 4 gospels?
Here’s what to do:
Put out 4 buckets lining them up behind each other in a line
– Have the child line up before the 1st bucket holding a ball
– Have the child say, “Matthew” and then throw the ball into the 1st bucket
– Get the ball and give it back to the child
– Have the child say, “Matthew, Mark” and then throw the ball into the 2nd bucket
– Get the ball and give it back to the child
– Have the child say, “Matthew, Mark, Luke” and then throw the ball into the 3rd bucket
– Get the ball and give it back to the child
– Have the child say, “Matthew, Mark, Luke, John” and then throw the ball into the 4th bucket
Enjoy playing the Gospel Ball Game!
