Sheep are a fun feature of multiple Bible stories. Fortunately, they also lend themselves handily to crafts, games, and even snacks! Here are several simple craft options to consider if you are preparing to teach a sheepish Sunday school class! It won’t be baaaa-ring.

Craft One: Fluffy Handprint
Supplies
- Paper
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Markers/decorative materials
Procedure:
- Trace a child’s hand on construction paper.
- Flip the paper around so that the thumb is the “head” of the sheep and the fingers are the legs. Allow the child to color or decorate as desired.
- Glue on cotton balls to make wool. Allow the sheep to dry.
Craft Two: Sheep Puppet
Procedure:
- Decorate the paper bag with markers. Add eyes, ears, and mouth features, if desired.
- Glue cotton balls on the front of the bag for sheep wool.
- Allow to dry, and let your sheep “speak” by moving the bag with your hand!
Craft Three: Pom-pom Pin lamb
You Will Need:
- Yarn
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Clothespins (optional)
- Tube or cardboard piece
Craft Directions:
- Cut notches in the cardboard. Slide yarn into the notches to secure.
- Begin to wrap the yarn around the tube.
- Continue wrapping yarn, to build into a ball, slightly larger than a golf ball.
- When the yarn is sufficiently large, wrap a few more times in the opposite direction to secure it.
- If desired, decorate with clothespin “legs” and pom pom “head.”
- You may leave the yarn tied up, or snip at the ends to make the sheep more fluffy.
Craft four: Jesus Had a Little Lamb Mask
Craft Supplies:
- Paper plate
- Cotton balls
- Glue, scissors
- Markers/decorative materials
- Popsicle stick (optional)
How To Make the Lamb Mask
- Cut a face-sized hole inside the paper plate. It may be easier to fold in half first.
- Color the outside, if desired.
- Glue cotton balls around the border of the plate.
- Attach paper ears and ribbon, if you like.
- Optionally, add a popsicle stick to hold up the mask.
- Smile and say “baaaa”!
Craft Five: Cuppa Lamb
You Will Need:
- Styrofoam cup
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Clothespins
- Google eyes
- Markers to decorate (optional)
Directions:
- Decorate the foam cup, if desired.
- Glue cotton balls around the cup.
- Affix clothespins to the bottom for “legs.” Color pins if you like.
- Attach an extra cotton ball or pom pom “head” with google eyes.
