Free Sunday School Lessons About Jesus
- Jesus’ Final Instructions and Ascension – this discussion based lesson plan is targeted to 3rd – 5th grade Sunday school. Includes review questions and links to coloring sheets and more learning activities.
- “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” a series of Bible stories that each involve the sharing of a meal and show how Jesus welcomes us.
- Jesus Turns Water Into Wine – this lesson plan shows the connection between Jesus’ miracle in John 2:1-11 and our fellowship as Christians around the Lord’s Table.
- Jesus and Zacchaeus Bible Story – this lesson shows how Jesus accepted broken people and offers forgiveness even now. It is based on the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus from Luke 19:2-10.
Bible Story Lessons About the Prophets Elijah & Elisha
- The Prophet Elijah and King Ahab Bible Lesson – This lesson plan is based on the story from 1 Kings where Elijah confronts King Ahab. It is targeted to older children but includes resource links for crafts, worksheets, and other children’s ministry ideas.
- The Prophet Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath Bible Lesson – This kids Sunday School lesson plan highlights God’s love and care for the prophet Elijah. It is based on the popular Bible story from 1 Kings 17:7-16.
- Elijah Confronts the Prophets of Baal Bible Story – God demonstrates that he is the only true God in dramatic fashion on Mt. Carmel.
- Elijah Runs Away, Receives Encouragement and Rides Chariot to Heaven – this is the final Sunday School lesson in the series and covers the final events in the story of the Prophet Elijah.

I post my original lesson plans for children’s church. These lesson plans are designed for K-5 sessions with 30 kids. With a few simple changes, these would be very useful for children’s Sunday school. Feel free to use then in your child churches, Sunday school or children’s ministry program. This curriculum is based on LeRoy Ford’s Design for Teaching and Training.
Each lesson plan includes clear goals and targeted learning activities. I try to include any relevant activity, game, idea, song, craft, sermon, story, material that will help you teach. You can view them on my free children’s church lesson plans page. First taught in a baptist church, but they should work in any christian church. You can also find some Sunday school crafts online.

Kid’s Sunday School Place is a website that offers many free downloadable children’s bible lessons. To get full access you must register and pay $36 per year. But wow – that’s major value for such a time saving website! Look for Preschool Sunday School Lessons, teacher help, some Spanish language lesson plans and even ideas for Sunday School outreach. E-Bible Teacher Children’s Sunday School Resources
E-Bible Teacher offers a large collection of free lessons for sunday school. This website offers free Bible study lessons, kids bible review activities and games, songs, trading card files, and teaching tips for primary and junior level church classes. This is very helpful if you are writing your own Bible story curriculum or just enhancing your sunday school curriculum. You can find lots of download ideas, worksheets, graphics and other materials for childrens Sunday school. They also have printable flip charts and PowerPoint for Children’s Sunday School. They also feature adult sunday school lessons.
Sunday School Ideas From Kidology
Kidology is primarily a paid access site, but they offer many free Sunday School lesson resources here. Full membership costs $44 per year. Their children Sunday School activities are worth that price. You will also find help for Children’s ministry administration, Bible crafts, Easter lesson plans, games, Holiday Ideas for Sunday School, Children’s Church Lessons (which usually can be modified for Sunday School), Music, Object Lessons, PowerPoint, kids Bible stories and videos. These resources are all very helpful in fleshing out your lesson plan.

Hi Tony, my pastor asked me this morning to be the youth director, as well as the youth Sunday School teacher…do you have any lessons focused on grades 7-12?
