Building a great children’s Bible lesson plan is hard work! Did you know that hundreds of websites offer free lesson plan downloads for Sunday school teachers? You can teach these kids Bible lessons “as is” or use them to create your own.

I post my original lesson plans for children’s church. These lesson plans are designed for K-5 sessions with 30 kids. With a few simple changes, these would be very useful for children’s Sunday school. Feel free to use then in your child churches, Sunday school or children’s ministry program. This curriculum is based on LeRoy Ford’s Design for Teaching and Training. Each lesson plan includes clear goals and targeted learning activities. I try to include any relevant activity, game, idea, song, craft, sermon, story, material that will help you teach. You can view them on my free children’s church lesson plans page. First taught in a baptist church, but they should work in any christian church. You can also find some Sunday school crafts online.
Free Children Sunday School Lessons From Wycliffe Bible Translators
Wycliffe Bible Translators offers several free Sunday school lesson plans on their website for children’s Sunday school. One highlight is their 6 lesson series on prayer. You can also find helpful Bible based lessons on missions and giving. This is a great Sunday school resource from a highly respected international missions agency. I recommend this kids curriculum as free material for churches who want to teach kids about missions. These lbible studies could also be organized to form a Vacation Bible school or Spring break Bible camp.
Praise Factory Sunday School Curriculum
Check out this God-centered curriculum from Capitol Hill Baptist Church. It was written by Connie Dever and arranges a complete scope & sequence for children’s Sunday School around topic in Systematic Theology.
The entire curriculum is free to download from their website. Here are direct links to their check out their toddler, preschool, and elementary school options. The goal of these Sunday School Lessons is to promote active minds, noisy joy, and prayerful hearts. This looks like solid in-depth resources that are complete and easy-to-use for teachers.
You can download 325 lessons from Calvary Chapel Kids that cover the whole Old & New Testament. This resource is arrange by Bible passage. Each lesson plan includes activities and coloring pages. I often refer to their lessons for supplemental ideas for my teaching. These free children’s sunday school lessons are very high quality.

Kid’s Sunday School Place is a website that offers many free downloadable children’s bible lessons. To get full access you must register and pay $36 per year. But wow – that’s major value for such a time saving website! Look for Preschool Sunday School Lessons, teacher help, some Spanish language lesson plans and even ideas for Sunday School outreach. This site is organized by the following labels Lesson Activities, Bulletin Boards, Bible crafts, Games, Printable Lessons, Object Talks, Puzzles, Skits, Songs, Stories and a Topical Index.
E-Bible Teacher Children’s Sunday School Resources
E-Bible Teacher offers a large collection of free lessons for sunday school. This website offers free Bible study lessons, kids bible review activities and games, songs, trading card files, and teaching tips for primary and junior level church classes. This is very helpful if you are writing your own Bible story curriculum or just enhancing your sunday school curriculum. You can find lots of download ideas, worksheets, graphics and other materials for childrens Sunday school. They also have printable flip charts and PowerPoint for Children’s Sunday School. They also feature adult sunday school lessons.
Children’s Ministry Ideas From Kidology
Kidology is primarily a paid access site, but they offer many free Sunday School lesson resources here. Full membership costs $44 per year. Their children Sunday School activities are worth that price. You will also find help for Children’s ministry administration, Bible crafts, Easter lesson plans, games, Holiday Ideas for Sunday School, Children’s Church Lessons (which usually can be modified for Sunday School), Music, Object Lessons, PowerPoint, kids Bible stories and videos. These resources are all very helpful in fleshing out your lesson plan.

Use this customized search engine to find Sunday school ideas. Try searching for the Bible story you will be teaching about. For example, you could search for “Jesus Feeds Five Thousand lesson“
